Peter Symchuk was born in 1963 in The Pas, Manitoba. He found his passion for carving in 1998, finding a piece of driftwood and carving a face. He has been an active member in the indigenous community, particular with adolescence sports in coaching hockey and as the co-chair of the Manitoba Aboriginal Sports and Recreation Council.

Peter has completed over 1,000 pieces of work which have been sold worldwide. He has also taught classes in carving techniques.
